About Us

IEEE MAS

IEEE Madras Section is an association of technical professionals in Tamil Nadu who has volunteered themselves in providing technology enhancement in engineering disciplines in the locality through the conference, events, technical activities.

Historically, the activities of the IEEE Madras Section started in 1973 as the Tamil Nadu Sub-section of the Bangalore Section. The Sub-section attained Section status on 28th April 1978. IEEE Madras Section Silver Jubilee Year (1978-2003), was celebrated in a grand manner, honoring the members of 25 years’ standing and invited all members to share their information & knowledge on our Section’s history.

IEEE Madras Section Young Professionals is a community of enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative members and volunteers across Tamilnadu.

Women in Engineering

The mission and vision of IEEE Madras Section WIE is to inspire, engage, encourage, and empower IEEE women so as to form a vibrant community of IEEE women and men innovating the world of tomorrow.

Student Activities Committee

LINK is an innovative concept that originated in IEEE Madras Section, aimed at networking student branches in an efficient. They enhance the value of IEEE student membership by connecting between SB’s and coordinating for each other.

Membership Development Activities

To promote both professional and student membership growths in Madras Section and the Institute as a whole and to encourage all members to seek the highest membership grade for which they qualify. To monitor membership status and to conceive, develop, and implement membership growth programs in Madras Section.

Industry Relations

IEEE Board identified Industry Relations as a major focus Area. To execute the same IEEE Madras Section Industrial Relations committee is striving hard to incorporate industry members and cross pollinate industry activities .

Professional Activities

With a zealous Young Professionals Affinity Group, IEEE Madras Section organises campaigns, workshops and networking opportunities for the IEEE members who are contributing their share to the industry.
