On 20.2.23, IEEE Madras section organized Global Leadership Connect 2023 and IEEE HTB Global Workshop. The speaker for the day was Mr. Sampathkumar Veeraraghavan, 2023 Global President, IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) and Global Chair 2023 IEEE HTB Partnership. Dr. K. Porkumaran, Chairman IEEE MAS delivered the welcome address and who also highlighted the section’s accomplishments of the section.

Mr. Sampathkumar focused on the importance of engaging students and technologists in humanitarian activities and sustainable innovations. He elaborated on the strategic areas of focus of HAC, which included raising awareness, providing training, supporting humanitarian technology and sustainable development activities, and building a sustainable development community. He also talked about SIGHT, Special interest group on Humanitarian Technology, and provided tips on approaching project context and writing proposals. Lastly, he discussed the global strategic plans and how HTB fits into this plan.
